For Researchers
StereumLabs aims at reproducible and comparable measurements of Ethereum client behavior: equalized conditions, declared hardware, published methodology, disclosed limitations. The data and methodology suit protocol research, client evaluation, and ecosystem health work.
Start with methodology
- Purpose & Scope: what we measure, how we define "neutral", and how we handle client-specific configuration.
- List of VMs: every VM profile (past and present) with provider, region, vCPU/RAM, storage, kernel, lifecycle, and availability windows.
- Client metrics catalog: the full set of client-specific Prometheus metrics we collect across all EC and CC implementations.
- Build your own dashboards: datasources, sampling intervals, and the StereumLabs custom labels (
ec_client,cc_client,role,deployment, etc.).
Working with our partners
Researchers from MigaLabs author the dashboards in our catalog. The project is supported by an Ethereum Foundation grant. Research collaboration inquiries are welcome via the contact below.
Data access

| Raw exports (CSV/Prometheus) | no | no | yes |
| Custom runs (specify VM specs, clients, versions) | no | no | yes |
For longitudinal studies, citation-grade datasets, or specific scenario runs, contact us about Enterprise or research partnership terms. Pricing should not be the reason good methodology work does not happen.
Citing StereumLabs
If you reference our measurements in a paper, post, or report, please cite as:
StereumLabs Documentation. (YEAR). [Page or dashboard title].
RockLogic GmbH. https://docs.stereumlabs.com/<path>
Accessed YYYY-MM-DD.
When citing a specific run or dashboard snapshot, include the time window, client versions, and environment profile shown in the dashboard header. These parameters make the measurement reproducible. The Changelog records when methodology or metric definitions changed, so you can cite against the right version.
For a stable DOI or archival mirror of a specific dataset, contact us. This is on the Roadmap and we can prioritize specific assets on request.
Posts useful for research
- Erigon's monolithic node: 25% faster execution, 2x slower commits. Architecture trade-offs across 50,000 blocks.
- How Ethereum execution clients see the P2P network. Peer composition, churn rates, protocol-version distributions across the fleet.
- Blob performance across consensus clients. Gossip verification, KZG, reconstruction across 72 nodes.
- Fusaka hardfork: hardware impact on non-supernodes. Before/after PeerDAS measurements across 36 pairings.
